How to Get More Range From Your Electric Scooter: 8 Proven Tips

How to Get More Range From Your Electric Scooter
The range printed on a spec sheet is a best case. Real range depends on how you ride, where you ride, and how well you look after the battery.
The good news: you control most of it. Here are eight ways to go further on every charge.
1. Ride at a Steady, Moderate Speed
This is the single biggest factor. Air resistance rises sharply with speed — pushing from 20 to 30 km/h can cut your range dramatically. If you need maximum distance, drop a speed mode and hold it steady.
2. Accelerate Smoothly
Hard acceleration draws a big burst of current. Rolling on the throttle gently uses noticeably less energy than jackrabbit starts from every stop.
3. Coast and Anticipate
Look ahead, read the traffic, and ease off the throttle well before you need to stop. Every hard brake is energy you already spent. Smooth riders go further.
4. Check Your Tyre Pressure
Under-inflated tyres increase rolling resistance and quietly steal range. Check pressure regularly — more often in cold weather, when it drops faster.
5. Watch Your Total Weight
Range is tested at a specific rider weight (ours is tested at 60 kg). Carrying heavy loads, a big backpack or riding with extra weight all reduce distance. Only carry what you need.
6. Avoid Hilly Routes When You Can
Climbing uses far more energy than flat riding. If range matters more than scenery, plan a flatter route. If you can't avoid hills, use a lower gear and steady effort rather than fighting the climb at full power.
7. Use the Right Speed Mode
Our scooters offer multiple modes for a reason. Eco or low modes trade speed for distance. For a long commute, the slower mode often gets you there faster overall — because you don't have to stop and charge.
8. Look After the Battery
* Charge at room temperature.
* Avoid leaving it fully drained or fully charged for long periods.
* In winter, expect and plan for reduced range.

The Honest Truth About Range
Every brand quotes an ideal-condition figure. What matters is real-world distance under your conditions. Ride smoothly, keep your tyres right, and look after the battery — and you'll consistently beat the riders who don't.
